Who doesn’t want extra money in hand??? Everyone…Isn’t it???
And there are ample of ways to earn money. One can do blogging, can work online, can take survey, can do proofreading, can write freelancer etc. I mean there are endless ways. But the only thing is to know the process of how to go for all these options of earning. In my case I’m learning and exploring regularly about all these ways on day to day basis. Few days earlier I shared with you some of the ways to make money online and now I’ll start sharing with you the same in detail. So my today’s topic is BLOGGING.
Now first let’s see What is a Blog???
A Blog or Blogging means to put in your thoughts, views, information and discussion on a website or web page and to update or add new material in that on daily basis. This can be run by an individual or small group.For Blogging, we don’t need a big space or firm to put a setup. All you need is your computer or laptop, an internet connection and a very good knowledge of topics about which you want to write.For writing a blog you need not to be technically very sound.
Blogging is about sharing your knowledge with the world and also you can do much more with blogging apart from writing only that is
- can earn money
- can share your Ideas, thoughts and experiences or even can share your own stories also
- can have a lot of communities or friends to chat or discuss
There is a lot of info out there on the web and everyone is telling you to do different things. This all is so confusing!
In this blog I’ll try to cover the things in very simplest and easiest way.
So let’s move on…and see how to Start a Blog:
Need to choose a Blogging platform
Among the best blog sites WordPress is the most popular blogging platform in the world. It is self-hosted version and is a turnkey blogging platform. WordPress was launched in 2005 and till now it has gained the highest ranking in the field of blogging.
It’s by far one of the biggest blogging platforms in the world, with countless plugins and add-ons and almost infinite ways to design and layout your blog.
Apart from wordpress there are other platforms also as in Blogger, Tumblr, Squarespace, Joomla, Wix, Druple etc. So you can try any of the blogging platform to start writing.
Self-hosting or a free alternative
Now here comes the place where you need to decide whether to pay for your blog or grab a free one. Because there is a big difference in paid and free blog platform. Well I’ll not confuse you at this point. I’ll rather suggest you to start with the free blog and then later on(but not too late otherwise your demanded domain name can be taken by someone else) you can shift on to paid version.WordPress, Tumblr, and Blogger all offer free blogs for anyone. But later on definitely you can go for self hosting.
Find A Niche
A niche doesn’t have to be your passion. But it does have to be an interest of yours. The best niches are exciting enough that you’ll be motivated to continually post about it, and accessible enough that you can build an audience.
Finding the right niche is the most important part of building a blog that often gets overlooked. If you pick a niche with too much competition, your blog will get beaten down by high authority websites. If you pick a smaller niche with no demand, your blog will barely make an impact. You need to find a niche that’s in the middle and a niche that can also be monetized easily.
Designs & Themes
Now next comes the design and theme of your blog. Your blog should look attractive You can think of a theme as the template for the visual layout of your blog. If you’re not a web developer (and I’m definitely not one), having a good theme makes design and organization of your site a snap.
If you’ve gone with a self-hosted WordPress site, you’ll have literally thousands of amazing free and paid theme options at your disposal.
Write your content
After set-up now it’s time to act upon. I mean now it is time to note down your content. As discussed one should always plan to write about one’s niche. Now you have to decide what your blog will be about. Of course, you can always start a blog talking about anything and everything. However, these types of blogs aren’t often as successful.
That’s because people search the Internet for one reason only: to solve a problem. That problem may be to find entertainment, or it may be to answer a question. It could be any number of imaginable problems. But when readers are looking to solve a problem and your blog is nothing but ramblings on random topics, how is your blog going to solve their problem?
Also adding to this, it is very important that you publish your post regularly otherwise it could affect your viewers.
Use pics and images
Simply adding a few visual elements can almost double the amount of views and significantly expand the shares a post gets. There are some incredible free blog photo and design resources you can use to enhance your posts, even if you’re not very design-minded at all. You can even just use product screenshots throughout your content, depending upon the subject matter.
Hit on Publish/Post
Now that all is set and you are ready to Publish the blog. Then what are you waiting for. Just go ahead and Publish your first ever blog. But remember it is not easy to get traffic to your blogs. But not to worry. Blogging needs a lot of patience and passion.
Like anything else in life, there will be obstacles that attempt to throw you off course. But, I encourage you to go forward with your passion and share it through your blog.
