Dark circles occur when the blood vessels under your eyes become dilated or when congestion puts pressure on these blood vessels. Some other causes of under-eye dark circles include excessive salt intake, pollutants, poor skin elasticity and genetics as well.
There are a number of methods — both natural and medically prescribed — that people use to get rid of, or lessen the appearance of, dark circles under their eyes. Although not all of these treatments are permanent, with maintenance and consistency they will help reduce the appearance of dark circles.

And certainly we can opt out some necessary steps to come out from this situation. Let’s go through some of them:
GET ENOUGH SLEEP
Fatigue is one of the most common causes of dark circles so it’s important to get enough shut-eye each and every night and take at least 9 hours of sleep. It’s worth taking the time to find out how many hours of sleep your body needs daily, not just for brighter eyes but also for your well being.
DRINK MORE WATER
As we know, the skin around our eyes is thinner than everywhere else on our body. When you are dehydrated, your skin will get dry and will look most prominent around the eyes.Any dark circles you have will be further enhanced due to this. Dehydrated skin also causes water retention, which can cause swelling of the skin – leading to eye bags.
REDUCE SUN EXPOSURE
Apply face-friendly sunblock, wear a large floppy hat or sunglasses to cover your face when heading outdoors. Make it a habit to reapply sunscreen at regular intervals to keep your skin protected.
USE ROSE WATER
Rose water soothes and rejuvenates your under-eye skin that reduces dark circles. Plus, its anti-bacterial properties make your skin clear and radiant.
Just soak some cotton eye pads or cotton balls in pure rose water and place them on your eyelids. Leave them on for about 15 minutes. Do this treatment twice a day every week, or until the dark circles diminish.
USE TEA BAGS
Before you toss your used tea bags into the trash, pop them first into the fridge. Once they’re cold, place them over your eyes and leave for 10 minutes as a cold compress.
Tea comes packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help to revitalise skin and reduce puffiness.
TRY A TOMATO
Tomatoes have natural bleaching agents and excellent bleaching properties that can lighten skin quite effectively.
Take 1 tsp tomato juice and 1 1/2 tsp of lemon juice and gently apply this mixture over your dark circles. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and rinse off with cool water. Follow this easy-peasy treatment twice a day for 2-3 weeks for visible results.
ALOE VERA
Aloe vera is a handy plant to have around the home for its countless medicinal cures. Aloe gel can help reduce swelling while hydrating your skin, making them perfect for puffy eyes.Made up primarily of water, aloe vera is also rich in vitamins, enzymes and minerals – allowing them to boost your skin’s health while replacing lost moisture.
WHAT ABOUT A RAW POTATO
Potatoes have great bleaching properties that lighten dark circles and cure puffy eyes.
All you need to do is grate one or two raw potatoes and extract the juice. Dip a cotton ball in the juice and place it over your eyes. Make sure the juice covers the dark circles as well as the eyelids. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse properly with cold water. Repeat this treatment twice daily for a few weeks.
TAKE IRON IN GOOD QUANTITY
If your body is lacking in iron, it cannot produce enough red blood cells. This can cause dull, sallow skin as iron helps your skin and nails retain its natural lustre.
Adding red meat, beans, lentils and leafy greens (such as spinach, kale or swiss chard) to your daily intake can help.
